Catering Sales Manager
About the Job:
The Catering Sales Manager supports the Catering Sales Director in driving banquet and catering revenue while delivering exceptional service to members and guests. This role is responsible for generating new business, maintaining client relationships, coordinating event details, and ensuring a seamless planning process from initial inquiry through event execution.
The Catering Sales Manager works closely with the Catering Sales Director, Executive Chef, Food & Beverage team, and other department leaders to execute weddings, corporate meetings, golf tournaments, social events, member functions, and other special events. This position is highly guest-focused and requires outstanding organizational, communication, and sales skills.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist the Catering Sales Director in achieving departmental sales goals.
- Respond promptly to inquiries, phone calls, emails, and walk-in guests.
- Conduct property tours and consultations with prospective clients.
- Prepare proposals, contracts, banquet event orders (BEOs), and correspondence.
- Build relationships with members and outside clients to generate repeat business.
- Coordinate event details with clients from booking through event completion.
- Work closely with the Executive Chef and Food & Beverage team on menu selections and event logistics.
- Maintain accurate client files and event documentation.
- Assist with deposit collection, billing, and payment tracking.
- Attend BEO meetings and communicate event details with all operating departments.
- Ensure events are set according to client expectations and Club standards.
- Participate in bridal shows, networking events, and community outreach to promote the Club.
- Assist with weekly sales reports, booking forecasts, and revenue tracking.
- Support member events and Club programming as needed.
- Maintain exceptional customer service before, during, and after each event.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum 1-2 years of catering sales, event sales, hospitality, or banquet experience preferred.
- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple events and deadlines simultaneously.
- Professional appearance and positive attitude.
- Self-motivated with a strong sales mindset.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience with banquet software or event management systems is a plus.
- Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business demands.
